BC Wheelchair Basketball Society announces athletes headed to 2024 BC Winter Games

January 24, 2024

After months of selection camps, tryouts and hard work, BC Wheelchair Basketball’s top provincial junior aged athletes have been named for the upcoming 2024 BC Games.

Since the 2023 BC Winter Games in Vernon, the players and coaches have been participating in a variety of tournaments, skills camps, and weekly club events within their regions to prepare for this winter’s 2024 BC Games. The short timeline between BC Winter games is due to the re-scheduling of the 2022 planned games into 2023. Historically the BC Winter Games are held every two (2) years.

BC Wheelchair Basketball is happy to announce our 2024 BC Winter Games athletes travelling to Lhtako Quesnel in February:

“The BC Winter Games provides a valuable competitive opportunity for athletes as the progress along the Podium Pathway,” states Adam Front, BCWBS Junior Program Head Coach. “For some athletes, this will be a first step in their transition to high-performance and for others, this will be a competitive memory that not everyone gets to experience.  But for all, this will be a celebration of accomplishment as our athletes get to represent their zone with the spirit of fair play with a connection to their sporting community and the great city of Quesnel. I am excited for the opportunity to coach at my first BC Winter Games and to visit the city of Quesnel with this talented group.”

Joining this tremendous group of athletes will be a seasoned group of coaches with experience at the international, national, and regional levels.

BCWBS is fortunate to have such a dedicated group of athletes, volunteers, and coaches to make the BC Games program such a success for everyone.
