The BC-WBL league is fully integrated as we welcome athletes with a disability as well as able-bodied athletes to play in the spirit of competition. It often features some of the country’s best wheelchair basketball players, including past, present and future members of Team Canada.
The BC-WBL is made up of teams from Vancouver, Fraser Valley, Victoria, Kamloops & Kelowna, and Prince George. Annually, the season is comprised of a minimum three regular scheduled tournaments throughout the province, and the BC-WBL league finals hosted in different regioans.
The BC Junior Wheelchair Basketball League launched in the 2025-26 season!
Junior athletes aged 12 to 17, with or without a disability, are assigned to a team and take part in tournaments throughout the year.
For more Information on the BC-WBL and BC Junior league, please contact BCWBS.
The BC-WBL is a provincial wheelchair basketball league that provides competitive opportunities for teams throughout British Columbia. The BC-WBL is unique in that teams are comprised of men and women, juniors and adults, and individuals with a wide range of disabilities, mobility impairments as well as their able-bodied peers playing together in the spirit of sport and camaraderie. The league culminates in an annual provincial championship tournament and awards banquet.
The winner of the BC Finals will have a ticket to CWBL National Championships in spring.
The BC Junior Wheelchair Basketball League also launched in the 2025-26 season and is open to athletes aged 12 to 17.
The leagues are open to any team interested in participating, as long as teams compete with an understanding of the leagues' goals, but all players must be current individual members of BCWBS to be eligible to participate. See a list of current team contacts.
