Season Kick-Off Performance Camp and Division 1 Games

October 23, 2012

BCWBS hosted our first performance camp of the season this past weekend (Oct 20/21) at Douglas College New Westminster and Trinity Western University in Langley.

23 players including High Performance athletes and Canada Games targeted athletes from across province attended the camp. Provincial Coach Marni Abbott-Peter and Regional Coach Joe Higgins lead the camp and volunteer coaches Arley McNeney, Mitch Kosterman, and Brad Hagkull also pitched in especially to work with younger athletes. The camp sessions included chair skills, individual skill drills, bench mark testing, team skill drills, 3 on 3/4 on 4 scrimmages, and a mental training session ran by the guest coach Tim Frick.

On Sunday, two Division 1 games were also played. Although Douglas College Royals won both games against Douglas College Lions, the games were close and intense despite the first games of the season.

BCWBS would like to thank all the coaches and volunteers for their hard work for our athletes. Big thanks also go to Douglas College and Trinity Western University for their continuous support.
