In February and March, viaSport will be opening a number of grant programs that will encourage sport participation across the province. Funding will be available for new and exisiting sport programs, communtities in northern BC, Aboriginal sport programs and provincial to international events hosted in BC.
The Local Sport Program Development Fund
The Local Sport Program Development Fund allows community sport to be more accessible to people of all abilities by providing funding support to sport programs initiated by municipalities, sport organizations and Aboriginal communities. Learn More

Northern BC Strategy Equipment Grant
The Northern BC Strategy Equipment Grant Program was created in collaboration with the Province of British Columbia and viaSport. Communities in Northern British Columbia (BC Games Zones 7 and 8) are invited to apply for funds that will help purchase sport equipment on the playing field or equipment that will help sport delivery. This one-time grant is a localized investment to support athlete and coach development in the region leading up to the 2015 Canada Winter Games hosted in Prince George.
