The inaugural All-Comers Wheelchair Basketball Festival was held on Saturday, March 11, 2011 with over 24 participants attending the afternoon event at Douglas College. A mix of both veteran and new athletes came out to the event which saw seven first time participants to the sport of wheelchair basketball.
The afternoon showcased 4 on 4 scrimmages, a team relay challenge, and a skills session, providing an opportunity for athletes to hone their skills in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
A huge thanks to our coaches Carly Scarr, Erin Higgins, Mitch Kosterman, and Arley McNeney who provided excellent coaching tips and enthusiasm throughout the afternoon and a special thanks to ex-player Marney Smithies who was the master scorekeeper at the Festival.
