BCWBS and the BC Breakers invite all girls and women to come out, get moving and have some fun!
What: Wheelchair basketball games, skill development, Yoga
Where: Douglas College, New Westminster Campus
When: Saturday March 9, 2013 from 9am-4pm
Open to all girls and women, (able bodied or with a disability). We are inviting current junior and senior players, new players and first timers. We will have something for all levels of participants. Equipment, snacks, and a gift will be provided.
The day will include wheelchair basketball games, skill development and fun 3on3 games. National Sr Head Coach Bill Johnson and Espoir Coach Michael Broughton will be in attendance. The morning session will feature an on-court chair skills workout with strength & conditioning expert Steve Ramsbottom.
At lunch time we will have a session with Mary-Jo Fetterly. Mary-Jo is a dynamic facilitator, teacher, and therapist, with an extensive background in psychology, nutrition, body centered (somatic) therapy, and yoga. Mary-Jo had a skiing in 2004 accident which broke her neck and left her completely paralyzed from the neck down. Mary-Jo continues to mother, teach and inspire others to engage in their own personal journeys of healing and transformation. She continues to live in the moment and brings inspiration to those she connects with.
