On March 19 and 20th, Kelowna held it's 3rd annual Jamboree! This year we had 44 athletes plus coaches and fans attend from Vancouver, Kamloops, Kelowna, Calgary, and Spokane which was a new addition this year!
The jamboree was a great success with its focus on fun, camaraderie, and friendly competition. Games included low class players playing against each other with the game coming down to a last second shot for the win, and young players defeating more mature athletes! There was also a great Junior game with Spokane taking on Canada. Many new faces were in attendance and some great new friendships were formed during play and at the social event!
More photos of the event can be seen on the Kelowna Wheelchair Basketball Facebook page.
Thanks again to Calgary and Spokane for making the trip as well as all the BC athletes and volunteers who made the Jamboree the event of the year. Special thanks goes to Okanagan Thunder for continuing hosting this successful event especially Paul Clarke, Bryan Shore and Wendy Jansen and of course BCWBS Regional Coach Joe Higgins.
Last but not least, we would like to thank all the sponsors for their generous support: Wheelchair Basketball Canada, BC Wheelchair Basketball Society, City of Kelowna, People In Motion, Active Mobility, Iris, The Source, Little Caesars, Extreme Pita, Orchard Park Mall
