BCWBS hosted a BC-CWBL Division 1 & 2 tournament in Lower Mainland this past weekend (Nov 26 & 27.)
In Division 1, Lions and Royals played each other twice. Lions lead by Coach Marni took both wins and now is leading the season. Both games were very competitive where everyone contributed to the games fairly equally.
In Division 2, seven teams competed, including new additions to the league Gold Rush and Vintage Cable Cars which came away undefeated. One of the most exciting games was the Cable Cars vs. Kamloops where the game was very close to the end but Cable Cars took the victory while Kamloops struggled with foul troubles but still played well with everyone on the team contributing.
Tacoma had to forfeit all the games as they could not bring a legal team but we greatly appreciated their commitment despite of their thanksgiving weekend!
Victoria was missing a few key players and had to play 9 points all weekend but still proved that they are a strong team. Okanagan got their strong scorers Matt and Jared back and secured good 3 wins. Gold Rush and Breakers are both consisted of young and up-and-coming players. They struggled result-wise but showed a lot of potentials. Breakers have definitely improved as a team since the last tournament in October.
