A new player from Powell River, Jenna Blakeney is playing for the Gold Rush in Division II this year.
Jenna is one of the active players in Powell River and she has already attended a few camps and tournaments that were hosted in Lower Mainland in the fall.
Here is the report from Jenna on her exerience at her first Div II tournament.

I first arrived at Douglas collage gym in New Westminster and I was welcomed by many familiar faces from previous camps. Joe Higgins invited a Ravens Powell River WBB team member, Dorin, and I down to Vancouver to attend a Tournament including many other teams such as Tacoma, Langley, Victoria, and a few others. Joe arranged a team that consisted of new players to the tournaments and made a team (Gold Rush).
I enjoyed experiencing the tournament and how fully packed with excitement and fun it was. The weekend was very constructive and useful for I’m always trying to find ways to get better. I like taking the constructive, helpful criticism the coaches had given to me so I can work on becoming better and helping others in my home town to become a stronger team and individuals as well.
Overall my weekend was useful, constructive, exciting, and overly fun.
Thanks so much to Joe H., the Higgins family and the other teams.
