From Provincial Coach, Cheryl Corrigan - May 2011

May 18, 2011

As the 2010 – 11 season comes to an end, it’s time to reflect on where we’ve been since we all started back in August…Canada Games tryouts…High Performance camps…and all sorts of tournaments, both here and afar. It has been a very successful season, both for individuals and all of our various teams. Before we head off for the summer break, do take time to think over the last season and evaluate both your goals and improvement as you look towards next year. And while you wait for next season to start, be sure to take the time off wisely by cross training and getting in some active recovery. Lots of wonderful cross training opportunities in Vancity: hand cycling the Sea Wall, kayaking, checking out the track or sledge practices, or perhaps barbecuing…;)

Lots of people to thank for this year’s season as well…not least of all, the folks in the office who make everything happen: Carrie and Makiko. Kudos to Coach Higgins, not only for the big win with the men’s team, but also for his tireless work with programming and recruiting. The seemingly hundreds of program coaches that devote their time and energy to our regional and high performance programs. And athletes, remember to thank your friends and family for all their support over the season.
