BCWBS provides sport wheelchairs for local programs such as city leagues and weekly programs. We have limited number of wheelchairs and in order for everyone to maximize their use, here are a few rules that we would like you to keep in mind.
- Share program wheelchairs with other participants. Some participants might need a certain chair due to their disabilities so please respect.
- Make sure to put the chairs back as you found it in the correct storage spot after each use.
- Do not take any parts away from an original chair. Which also means no borrowing parts even for one practice. Unfortunately quite a few parts such as axles, wheels, cushions, and straps go missing each year and we sometimes cannot use those chairs for our programs due to missing parts.
- If you need to take off a cushion or straps in order to better fit in the chair due to your disability, please talk to the program leader/coach first and make sure to put them back after each use.
- BCWBS chairs are for program use only. If you would like to use a chair to attend any other BCWBS or non-BCWBS events/tournaments/league (BC-CWBL)/practices (HP practice, individual training, etc.), please inquire BCWBS office for the loan wheelchair program.
- Once you rent our wheelchair, you will be responsible to keep your chair maintained. You can find a maintenance checklist on our website.
