Tim Frick City League Participants Share Their Sport at Family and Friends Night

October 27, 2011

Athletes in the Tim Frick City League had a chance to show off their skills and share their sport at a Family and Friends Night on October 25th. While many of the family and friends came to watch and cheer, several more hopped in chairs to play.

Coaches Arley McNeney, Brian McLennon and Joe Higgins were on hand to explain the rules of wheelchair basketball and help newcomers find the appropriate sports wheelchair. After some fun warm-up games, participants were split into groups and played several friendly matches. Thanks to some help from the City League athletes, the family and friends picked up the sport quickly and all coaches were impressed by the new recruits!

At the end of the evening, door prizes were awarded. Friends and family who enjoyed their experience are welcome to attend either the All-Comers Wheelchair Basketball Festival or sign up for the next City League. To find out more, contact Makiko at makiko@bcwbs.ca or 604-333-3532.
