The Winter Tim Frick City League showcased another great season of wheelchair basketball at Douglas College.
Continuing off a strong Fall season, 27 participants took to the court to develop their game experience, learned new skills, and built camaraderie with their teammates. Our new league leader Holly Tawse pulled off a successful season with her enthusiasm and big smile. Mentored by long time leader Joe Higgins, she kept the same quality of the league while bringing fresh aspects. A new addition to this year’s season was the ‘Frick Fact of the Week Challenge’ which was created to honour and learn more about the League’s history.
Congratulations to all athletes on their hard work, enthusiasm, and spirit they brought to the court each Tuesday night! Congratulations also to the league award winners!

Thank you to all of the referees who helped out this season, (Conston, Laura, Kevin, and Dean), in both reffing the games and providing valuable wheelchair basketball knowledge to all athletes. As well, thank you to our special guests Shelley Chaplin and Brian McLennon for great skill sessions and game tips. A special thank you goes to Douglas College for their continual support in making this League possible for BCWBS athletes.
