Jr Challenge 2016

What a fun weekend with athletes from all across the Province! We had athletes from Prince George, Pender Island, Victoria, Kamloops and all across the lower mainland. We also had some Let's Play kids join us in the 8ft hoop division, who all did a great job on Saturday, we saw some awesome skills and plays by these younger athletes all aged 12 and under, youngest being 7 years old!

Like many people with newly acquired disabilities, Amanda Yan wasn't ready to play wheelchair basketball when she sustained a spinal cord injury in 2008. That didn't stop Joe Higgins. He gave her a BC Wheelchair Basketball jersey: one that laid in the bottom of her drawer for years. Every time she tried to give it back, he refused.
