BC Wheelchair Basketball Society congratulates former Canadian men's national wheelchair basketball athlete and Cablecars alumni Peter Colistro on his induction into the Basketball BC Hall of Fame. Colistro was inducted into the 2016 class at an awards gala that took place on May 14th in Vancouver.

On May 19th, 2016 - BC Wheelchair Basketball Society will host its biggest fundraiser, Hoopfest, at the Richmond Olympic Oval. This fun wheelchair basketball tournament will feature teams from corporate and community organizations.

Congratulations to the Kamloops Bulldawgs on their bronze medal divison two win over Manitoba. The Bulldawgs came away with the 39-31 victory against a tough Manitoba squad looking for its first win of the tournament. The dedicated fans who crowded the Tournament Capital Centre stands certainly helped to elevate the team to victory!

This past weekend in Kamloops was a great finish to the 2015-16 BC-CWBL League! All the teams fought hard and we had a few very close games, with Seattle beating Vancouver 60-46 in the final game.

The best wheelchair basketball teams in the province will battle for the title of BC-CWBL champion at the 2016 BC-CWBL Finals in Kamloops this weekend. The event will be split between John Peterson Secondary School and South Kamloops Secondary School. Attendance is free.

Show your love of wheelchair basketball by spending your Valentine's Day weekend at the BC Breakers Wheelchair Basketball Festival in Victoria. The event will combine a CWBL women's league tournament with the Calgary Rollers and Edmonton Inferno with a camp. Admission is free.

Top U19 players from across the province will be training and competing at the Wheelchair Basketball Canada U19 Camp co-hosted by Wheelchair Basketball Canada and BC Wheelchair Basketball Society this weekend. Come and watch rising stars in the wheelchair basketball world show their stuff during scrimmages.

The annual BC Wheelchair Basketball Jr. Challenge Festival was held at the Fortius Sport & Health in Burnaby on January 24 & 25. More than 25 athletes and 9 coaches from across BC got together and worked on wheelchair basketball skills over the weekend.Canada Games Team BC athletes also attended the festival to prepare for the Canada Winter Games coming up in February.

Registration is now open for the Breakers Festival in Victoria from Feb. 13-14. The camp is open to women and girls (able-bodied or with a physical disabilitiy) of all experience levels. A sport wheelchair can be provided on request. Come have lots of fun learning a few sport in a supportive environment.

BC Wheelchair Basketball Society extends our condolences to the family and friends of renowned wheelchair basketball coach Jerry Tonello. Tonello passed away at the age of 59 after a long battle with brain cancer.
